ColorStack Triples Sponsorship, Adds Microsoft, Duolingo, Wells Fargo & Other Top Tech Companies

September 12, 2022

ColorStack’s mission is to increase the number of Black and Latinx Computer Science students that go on to start rewarding technical careers because we envision a future where Black and Latinx technologists are at the forefront of innovation.

To accomplish this, our team runs a portfolio of community building, academic support, and career development programs designed to give our members the tools they need to thrive in Computer Science and start their technical career. Thankfully, we’ve got some help.

To begin, I want to recognize that Triplebyte was the first company to believe in us, serving as our incubating sponsor for two years. This incubation allowed me to take the leap into entrepreneurship immediately post-graduation and I’ll forever be thankful to Ammon and the Triplebyte team.

ColorStack quickly landed 11 founding corporate sponsors that offered employment opportunities, mentorship, and skill-building workshops to our students: Bloomberg, Confluent, Datadog, Jane Street Capital, JP Morgan, McKesson, Roblox, Squarespace, Twilio, and Y Combinator.

Now that we’re in the second school year of operation, ColorStack has tripled its portfolio of sponsors who provide us with the resources we need to fulfill our mission.

Say hello to ColorStack’s 2021/2022 Corporate Sponsors.

Jane Street Capital and Y Combinator will continue to sponsor at the Gold level.
Duolingo and Wells Fargo join McKesson and Squarespace in sponsoring at the Silver level.
Airbnb, DoorDash, Dropbox, Gem, Gusto, HubSpot, Microsoft, Paylocity, Pinterest, Pure Storage, Redfin, Riot Games, Robinhood, SambaNova Systems, and Two Sigma join Bloomberg, Datadog, JP Morgan, and Twilio as Bronze sponsors.

These organizations are indispensable partners in the mission to support Black and Latinx Computer Science students.

As ColorStack starts its second year, I’m proud to share that The ColorStack Family has grown to over 1,300 members from over 450 schools across the country. Through the Fam Friday event series and programs like ColorStack Sprout and Career Camp, ColorStack continually strives to provide students with the resources and knowledge they need to succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

The addition of these sponsors means that ColorStack, operating as a nonprofit, can strengthen our fiscal sustainability over the long term. For students, new sponsors will serve as a bridge to more skill development, internships, and full-time job opportunities. For the companies, they get the privilege of engaging with the strongest early career Black and Latinx talent out there.
