Dear ColorStack Family and Friends,

It’s been a while! I hope you’ve been staying warm during these colder days, and that you’re ready for spring coming around the corner.

‍

I’m coming to you post-sabbatical, a long overdue period of rest after five years of building what you and I both know as ColorStack—but to me, is a bigger movement towards Black and Brown community building within the tech space.

‍

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be able to rest; these days, it is a privilege to say that when it absolutely shouldn’t be. My January was filled with lots of play—building apps, golfing, beaching, writing essays, all the things that bring me back to center. I was reminded of how necessary rest is to build clarity and strategy for where we want to be.

‍

In January, I transitioned from full-time CEO to a part-time capacity. I am incredibly proud to announce that Arnell Calderon has been promoted to President of ColorStack.

‍

In this capacity, I will be focusing on long-term strategy, financial oversight, and external evangelism, while Arnell manages the team, fundraises, and oversees day-to-day activities. Though my leadership will look slightly different, I’m excited for this new phase of ColorStack.

‍

If you know us for real, transformation is embedded in our DNA and culture. Much gratitude to our Board for supporting this exciting shift and offering their expertise on where we could grow. Until then, thank you so much for joining us on this journey. We’re just getting started.
